Directions to Wimmer Cemetery
Wimmer Cemetery is located at the intersection of Dixon Road and Dickey-john Road Southeast of Auburn, Sangamon County, Illinois just south of Route 104. The Cemetery is located at the south end of Dixon Road.
From Interstate 55, take Exit 82 toward Auburn, travel west four miles on Illinois Route 104 until you reach a north-south road named Dixon Road. There is sign at Dixon Road, which says "Wimmer Historical Cemetery." Turn south [left] on Dixon Road, the cemetery is five tenths of a mile from this point. There is a stone at the entrance of the cemetery which reads "Wimmer Cemetery Est. 1824."
If you are traveling from the north or the south on Illinois Route 4, go to the junction of Route 4 and Route 104. Head east on Route 104 for 1.8 miles where you will see the sign which reads "Wimmer Historical Cemetery." Turn south [right] on Dixon Road for five tenths of a mile and you will have reached the cemetery.
